Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with recurrent cervical cancer. I will be posting my journal here shortly – for family, friends and other women who are fighting the same battle. Perhaps my experience will be of some help.

Take care of yourselves!

Hey Andrea,
I too have recurrent cervical cancer. I go for my first CT scan for treatment in two days. I call it the “tattoo CT”. Fortunately for me the first radiation area is below where the cancer has spread to. I have read everything from no survivorability to being able to completely erradicate the cancer. I’m lean towards the later. Good luck to you and God Bless. Talk to you again I hope.

Dear Rhonda,

Good luck on your CT scan. I am getting my Pet Scan tomorrow preparatory to Cyber Knife at Georgetown Univetrsity Hospital. I am very optimistic that Cyuber Knife will take out what chemo and regular radiation couldn’t.

Please keep in touch.

Hugs,
Andrea

Hey again,
Cyber Knife sounds very optimistic to me. That’s great. I just went today to my chemo doctor and found out after the re-radiation (different area) and low-dose chemo (Cisplatin), he wants to administer a higher dose chemo a few weeks later. Can’t remember the name of the follow-up chemo drug, but he thinks this will be like a clean sweep, hopefully!!!! Have to get a “Pick” line though, darn.
Write again if you have a chance.
